Beyond The Book-Madi

We here at Team XenoPhoenix do a bit more than just write books and host panels. In this new series, 'Beyond The Book', we'll highlight some of that.

Starting her journey into the world of cosplay in 2003, Madi, also know as Celsius, has taken the cosplay world by storm....okay, not really. One can usually find her conventions around the east coast area such at AnimeNEXT, Otakon, New York Anime Fest, just to name a few. She may not have as many outfits as Mike of XP, but she does take her cosplay to the heart, knowing and researching about a character before putting it on display.

Madi’s on various sites, displaying her cosplay and photo shoot pictures. Most are uploaded to her DeviantArt page (feel free to watch her if you have one) while others are display on her American Cosplay Paradise page. And if she remembers she’s a member, you can find her on Cosplay.com as well. So if you have a question about cosplay in general or how to make any of the cosplays she has done before, feel free to drop her a line. She would be more than happy to answer any questions, as long as they don’t come off stalker like.

But when she’s not cosplaying or making a cosplay or contacting people for panel information or even figuring out what to do with her Bachelors degree, she’s doing what she can to live out her dream. What might it be you ask? Voice acting! Madi is still in the process of getting a site together to sell her name, but for right now, she’s on Voice Actors Alliance.

So if and when you can, please give her your support!

Aarrrgghh! You Maryland Cons Are Killing Us!!!

Don't let the title mislead, no one's mad. It was just the best title I could come up with. I just have to rant; but it's a good, happy rant. Really...

So it's been about a week since Otakon '09 & ALREADY XenoPhoenix has gotten 3 offers to either appear at or return to cons!...that are all in Maryland. Now normally, this would be really wicked news, but in this instance the group's hit a legitimate roadblock as those of us based in Maryland spent the better part of [the 1st few] in 2009 moving out. And considering the closest reps are at least a good few states away, logistically, this is an issue for us. And Maryland's not special in this regard. There are a host of events we want to go to, and as it stands, we've still got to find a way to balance not only where to go, but who to get there & how. Believe me when I say, it's not that we don't want to come to your con. WE WANT TO COME!!! But travel is the hardest part of any con; even harder when you're coordinating a group of individuals located points multiple around the U.S. But that's why it's something we're working on now, to resolve as soon as possible.

On a brighter note, of all the brand-spanking new stuff I've teased, none of its included convention appearances. So new cons + new stuff, will definitely equal epic wins all around.

OTAKON COVERAGE!!!

So we all had a blast a Otakon, and here's a brief collection for anyone who's missed our coverage.

Tweets

If you were kind enough to follow us on Twitter throughout the weekend, then you noticed that we twittered the entire con (to the best of our ability)

Pictures

We loaded a ton of pix to Facebook. There was so much awesome stuff this year, we wish we could've gotten more pix.

Videos

We loaded a few videos to Youtube, but we barely scratched the surface of all the Otakon awesome!

Massive Surprise!

It isn't included the con reports, but we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that Ralenta was proposed to at the rave! Buku congrats to her & her new fiance Paul!

Con Reports

Here's an recap of all the things that went down for us at Ota

Here's the link to Dark's pretty boring, and slightly depressing con report.
